Annual Student Awards 2012 Winner: Inspiration to Others Award (Olympic / Paralympic value of Inspiration)
Posted 27th February
Zarah Osarobo came to a mainstream entry level 3 Literacy course, having been on a Learning Pathways course, a programme for people with learning difficulties and disabilities, in the previous year.
She has Cerebral Palsy and mild learning difficulties – and when she first came into the class some of the students were unsure about what to make of her.
However, she soon became a strong role model to the other students. She works hard, doing a lot of writing at home as well as always reading her library book, never misses a class, is progressing well and is funny and cheerful.
She is excellent on the computer and is very supportive in class – often helping the other students during computer sessions. Everyone in the class has learned alot from her – she really is an inspiration to others.
