Green designs for Kassa at university

Ex HCC Carpentry and Joinery student Kassa Peart is on a mission to help make the world a greener place once he completes his degree at university.

Kassa, from Hackney, is now studying Architecture at London Metropolitan University after successfully completing the Site Carpentry Level 3 course at HCC earlier this year.

The 25-year-old intends to use his acquired skills to help design more eco-friendly buildings, but for now he is dedicating the next seven years to finishing his higher education.

He will spend the first five years perfecting his craft at university and the following two years doing on-site training.

He said: “I’ve always been keen on environmental issues, particularly saving energy and I think I can make a difference with the skills that I have. I’ve worked on some really interesting projects when I studied at HCC and the experience I gained there has definitely helped prepare me for my future career.”
