Carpenter runner-up in top skills competition
Hackney Community College’s Carpentry and Joinery student Mark Welfare displayed outstanding skills to secure a second place finish in the London heat of SkillBuild 2011, the UK’s biggest skills competition.
The Level 2 student, from Woodford, was awarded the runner-up spot in the Carpentry category after competing against other trainees from across the capital.
Mark said: “Studying Carpentry and Joinery at HCC has been a fantastic experience. The high quality of teaching has given me the skills and confidence to be a good carpenter.”
