Annual Student Awards Winners 2011: Inspiration to Others (recognising the Olympic / Paralympic value of Inspiration)

At 16 years old, Melrose is the youngest ever HCC learner on the BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care. She is a model student and an inspiration to others. She has 100% attendance and punctuality and is making very good progress in her studies with a predicted overall Distinction grade.
She contributes consistently in class and often helps more mature learners if they are experiencing difficulty understating concepts. She plays an active role in group peer work and often leads presentations and discussions. She has a very mature attitude to her studies, was nominated as the Student Representative by the group and regularly attends Student Representative meetings. She is a friendly, caring and understanding young lady with a bubbly personality. She is admired by all.
