Success all stitched up

Hackney Community College’s Fashion student Izras Peter Dixon has enjoyed a long string of success since establishing his own knitwear collection called Izras Lee.

He has sold some of his garments to an online fashion boutique, set up his own successful blog and regularly contributes to a leading knitwear magazine.

Izras, also known as Izzy D, sold some of his avant-garde pieces to an on-line eco-friendly boutique called Lost Values after being spotted at the recent London Fashion Week.

As well as this huge achievement, the Level 3 student discovered a knack for fashion journalism and set up his own blog called Urban Knit which showcases up and coming talent and receives over a 1000 hits a month.

He is also currently sharing his expertise about the latest trends in the knitwear fashion world as a regular contributor to Machine Knitting Monthly, the UK’s most popular knitwear publication.

The eighteen year old continues to design and make clothing alongside his new-found writing career and hopes to expand his knitwear brand in the near future.

He said: “I am glad that I discovered and broadened my horizons within design and the fashion industry itself. I have always been very competitive with high ambitions and now after working for some time I have come a step closer to realizing my dreams”.
