Annual Student Awards Winners 2010: The Pat Mahoney Teamwork Award (Friendship)

Fashion Students: Blessing Adeyemi, Rhiannon Jones, Alice Mokonzele, Terrisha Reid, Jade Shackleton Harriet Strachan, Caroline Twumasi, Surraya Constable, Jennifer Damoah, Francesca Ajufo, Shana-Kay Gordon, Peter Dixon, Gary Delamere.
Every year our fashion students produce high standards of work highlighted by the end of year fashion show enjoyed by friends, family, staff and visitors. Last year a group of students worked incredibly hard as a team to pull together a high-profile show which closed the National VQ Day celebrations and opened the Community Open Day at the College on the 24th June 2009. Despite end-of-year pressures the students agreed to bring their show forward a week at short notice – with no complaints.
In addition to this, fashion and media students deserve to be highly commended for the fashion show they participated in recently, again at short notice (one week!), at a national conference in front of dignitaries and principals from colleges across the country.
Both fashion shows were proud events for HCC, as the students worked well as a team, working within strict time constraints. The shows were spectacular and the students remained incredibly passionate and professional throughout.

This year’s student awards were themed around the Olympic and Paralympic values: excellence, respect and friendship (Olympic values) and courage, determination, inspiration and equality (Paralympic values).
