HCC student receives special mention at Regent Street Cinema

Posted 28th March 2017

Congratulations to On Track Media student, Ryan Wilson, who received a special mention from renowned film critic Mark Kermode, for his film Days Passed.

Ryan’s film was shown at the iconic Regent Street Cinema as part of the Young Filmmakers Competition 2017.

Ryan’s group film was about living as a young man in the city, with the risks faced from gangs; the risks to be part of one and the risks if you’re not.

Media tutor, Nicola Godlieb said “The judges found the story line mysterious with a great take on the brief of ‘risk’. They were impressed with the creative concept, and the judges encouraged Ryan to keep developing his film-making skills.”

The Young Filmmakers Competition was part of the British Safety Council’s 60 year celebrations. This is the latest of a string of high profile showcases and accolades for Hackney Community College’s On Track Media students.
