With our magnificent state-of-the-art sports centre, SPACe, the home of our hugely successful Sports Academies programmes in Basketball, Cricket, Football and Athletics, there is no better place to study sport and recreation or health and fitness. Hackney is an Olympic host Borough, which ensures there will be many exciting employment opportunities in these vibrant industries.

We have highly skilled teaching and coaching staff, many of whom have competed at the highest level – including an ex-Olympian!

HCC’s Basketball Academy is the only one in inner London to be granted the licence to deliver the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE). AASE is designed to meet the needs of elite athletes aged 16-18 who wish to develop their sporting career and work towards other college qualifications at the same time. The students can also achieve coaching qualifications and experience to back up their on-court careers.
