“Plumbing is great career with lots of job prospects. Many students take up apprenticeships or full-time jobs in large organisations – and some even go on to run their own company!
The salary can be fantastic – with some plumbers earning up to 50k. This is a really good trade to get into – and we have a good mix of male and female plumbers in our class.
Plumbing is also a trade that can be used anywhere in the world; there’s always a high demand for trained plumbers – so getting qualified is a must if you want to succeed in the industry.
We have great facilities at Hackney Community College – with purpose-built workshops which mimic real life working environments. Courses include level 1 to level 3 – and as well as studying part or full time – you could opt to go down the Apprenticeship route – so you’ll get paid while you learn.
The lessons are broken down into practical, theory and phase testing – and you’ll study all aspects of the plumbing trade including systems maintenance repair, Central Heating, Gas, Plumbing, Electrical Wiring, Roof/Lead work – and loads more!
Our tutors have many years of industry experience and work hard to help to motivate us and push us to succeed. That’s probably why the college has such good progression rates through the levels. Students have on average a 95% pass rate – which is above the national average – and many of us go on to win competitions and prestigious awards every year!
So come and have a look round the fantastic facilities and enrol on a plumbing course today!”
“I really enjoy the plumbing course. It’s not known as a women’s trade; I like the challenges and know I could make a good living out of it.”
