“Painting and Decorating is one of the most rewarding trades to get in to. On building jobs, we’re the last people to go into the property – so our finishing touches leave it looking fabulous!
The facilities at HCC are fantastic. They have the most up-to-date and challenging workshops that give great opportunities to practice and develop skills that are needed in the workplace.
You get to work on a variety of projects, from wall areas to complete cubicles; with all the architecture features that you’ll find in a domestic property. This makes you work-ready once you finish your course.
The staff are very experienced in the trade and are experts in their field – between them they have over 100 years’ experience of working in the trade! In fact, all of them still work in the trade so current trends are passed onto us students.
Staff are also really approachable and very supportive of us – and most importantly – they make learning fun.
The college has courses from entry level right through to level 3 – and many of us progress through these levels and onto employment. Salary wise, if you’re a specialist decorator, you can earn up to £200 a day!
You’re bound to succeed if you come to this college; their success rates are really high – well above national average. In fact last year’s was 91% – compared to 79% nationally!
So, to find out how you can achieve your qualification and get a well-paid job, come and have a look round the college and apply today.”
