These courses are perfect if you have arrived in the UK within the past three years. They’ll give you the confidence to go on to other courses and generally settle in to life in the UK. You can also choose to study English with another subject.

Ends: 5 July 2012
Timetable: Two days a week: 9:30am–3:00pm
These programmes will give an introduction to working as a classroom assistant in schools, a care worker or a plumber. The College will help you to find a work placement.
To join one of these programmes you must have Entry 3 certificates in speaking, listening, reading and writing.
During the programme you will build up a portfolio of evidence of the knowledge and skills you have learnt on the course. You will receive help with your reading, writing and maths skills, and you will sit a Literacy and Numeracy exam at the end of the course.
Possible next steps: A full Level 2 vocational qualification at the College.
