Early Years Education
A great deal of success.
The majority of Early Years Education students progress right through the courses - some from entry level through to level 5. And, we have a higher than average number of students progressing onto our partner university London Metropolitan University for the final year of their degree.
Early Years Education
“Welcome to Early Years Education at Hackney Community College.
Getting a qualification is absolutely essential if you want to look after children for a career. As well as becoming a childminder, there are many other employment routes you can opt for. You could choose work in a nursery, become a nanny or classroom assistant – or virtually any role involving caring for children.
Hackney Community College is a great place to get qualified. The courses range from entry level right up to level 5 – and many students progress right through the levels at the College.
The highly-qualified teachers are also experienced in the industry – so they give us lots of help and support throughout our time here. The resources are good – including a well-stocked learning resource centre which includes plenty of computers¸ iPads and books – plus knowledgeable staff to advise you.
You also received personalised support with one-to-one tuition tailored to helping you to achieve.
The lessons are hands-on, creative and practical – so you’ll be work-ready by the time you finish. Everyone goes on a work placement – but don’t worry – the college will find one for you.
The theory lessons back up these practical sessions, so you’ll be up-to-date with all the latest policies and current legislation.
Students like me really achieve here. Many go on to complete their degrees at top universities, while other students go on to get great jobs – with many being offered positions in companies where they had their work placements!
If you work hard, you’re bound to achieve. So come and check out the campus and talk to other students like me – and meet the tutors. Like us, I’m sure you’ll love it here!”
A Great Degree of Success
A whole class of Foundation Degree students have successfully completed the two year Early Childhood Studies course and have all gone on to London Metropolitan University to finish the last part of their degrees.
“‘I am always impressed with the high standards the Foundation Degree students achieve. They should feel very proud of how they have grown over the two years and are now progressing on to University,†says tutor Belinda Coogan.
