HCC's Sixth Form students are top in the country!
Data on the Advanced Level Performance System shows that HCC's 16-18 year old students on A Level and BTEC programmes achieved top Value Added scores. Our success rates are improving consistently and we're proud of last year's students' success: A2 Level pass rate: 96%, BTEC pass rate: 98%.
These are split into two parts: AS and A2 Level. AS Level is the first year of the course where you’ll get an introduction to the key ideas and methods of the subject you’ve chosen. You’ll be encouraged to take four AS Level subjects and would then normally go on to take three of them at A2 Level. Or, you can mix and match AS Levels with a vocational course.
We offer:
- Biology (AS and A2)
- Business Studies (AS and A2)
- Chemistry (AS and A2)
- Classical Civilisation (AS and A2)
- English Language and Literature (AS and A2)
- History (AS and A2)

HCC’s Sixth Form students make their mark
Three Sixth Form students, Sonika Nankoosing, Ali Reza and Shahida Begum, worked together with legal experts to conduct their own research, while also having the opportunity to interview well-known and successful public figures. These include experts such as Cherie Blair QC from Matrix Chambers.
HCC A Level students took part in dynamic workshops to empower them to voice their thoughts and opinions.
The project also provided opportunities for professional development and chances to increase practical skills.
