The LRC aims to support the teaching and learning activities of the College by providing a quality library and information service that promotes equal access to resources; the acquisition of independent learning skills and the effective exploitation of information in all formats.
We aim to provide:
- Efficient Learning Centres utilising information technology to meet service needs.
- Resources in a range of formats and media that reflect the changing needs of the College
curriculum and community. - An environment conducive to quiet study and learning.
- Enquiry and loan services geared to users’ needs.
- Information skills sessions and one-to-one tutoring to develop students’ independent learning skills.
- Open access computing facilities.
- Equal access for students with learning disabilities and difficulties through the provision of specialist resources and equipment.
We provide study spaces in a range of different areas; for silent, paired or small group work. There are computers for you to use for coursework and plenty of paper and online resources that are carefully selected to meet your coursework needs. The staff in the centre will help you find what you need. It also has open access IT space – which is ideal if you don’t have a computer to use at home.
