HCCA basketball men's team do the double in 2012
Men’s team success: double winners
Hackney Community College Basketball Academy triumphs in London Met League.

London Metropolitan League Champions Hackney Community College won the double by defeating Westminster Warriors at University of East London Sportsdock. The London 2012 Olympic training venue hosted the finals of the London Metropolitan Cup. A hard-fought match between Westminster and Hackney finally went to Hackney as they gradually pulled away in the third and fourth quarter.
This is the fourth year in a row that Hackney led by Coach Andrea Norton and assistant Jeff Danchie have won the championship.
Watched by an enthusiastic crowd it was a very proud day to be part of Hackney Community College.

2011-12: Hackney Community College’s Men’s Basketball team won the National Championships for the 7th time! The final took place in Bath on 9/10 April!

Congratulations to HCC’s Men’s Basketball team and coach Andrea Norton! In a close and exciting final against Loreto from Manchester – Hackney Community College won the BCS cup again! Final score: 92 – 81!
Having to set off at 6am on the long journey to Douglas Ellis Stadium Birmingham suddenly seemed worthwhile when you were coming back with a minibus full of medals.
We’re still competing in all major cup competitions, we’re top of the Elite League and Regional Champions representing the East of Britain at the National Championships!
Congratulations should go to Andrea Norton (men’s coach) and Sam Stiller (women’s coach) for their skill and commitment to the programme and continuing the Hackney College basketball legacy.

They are still competing in the BCS cup and face Milton Keynes in the next round.
They are also, as of 19th January, the British Colleges East Region regional champions, after winning a close and exciting final against South East Essex sixth form by 2 points.
